Hey friends,

Today’s the day I officially kick off my journey to get my financial life together—and let me tell you, the numbers hit me like a freight train.

Here’s what I learned today:

  • My current debt is $68,988.

  • I’m paying $2,226 a month just in minimum payments (yes, MINIMUM).

When I saw these numbers laid out in black and white, I felt a physical pain in my chest. How did I let it get to this point? Well, for starters, my debt didn’t accumulate overnight—it’s mostly from a previous relationship. And let’s be real, Amazon has gotten the best of me a few too many times (we’ve all been there, right?).

But here’s the thing—I’m not here to wallow in shame or beat myself up. I’m here to take accountability, share the good, bad, and ugly, and prove that no matter where you’re starting from, you CAN turn things around.

Why I’m Doing This
A lot of my friends in their 30s are having this same “financial awakening.” Whether it’s debt from relationships, student loans, or just years of not paying attention, we’re all realizing it’s time to get serious. For me, it’s not just about fixing my finances—it’s about building a future for myself and my 4-year-old son.

I want to be transparent about this journey, not just to keep myself accountable, but to help anyone out there who feels stuck. If I can figure this out, TRUST ME, so can you.

How I’m Tackling My Debt
Today, I signed up for Origin to get a clear picture of my debt and manage my paydown strategy. It’s already helped me understand what I’m up against and where to start. If you’re looking for a way to simplify your debt paydown, I highly recommend checking it out (referral link: https://www.useorigin.com/referral/97906f8f-5994-4b4e-a4ad-51b4179224d1).

My goal is to pay off this $68,988 in 10-11 months—and I’ll be sharing every step of how I plan to do it. Between dedicating $6,000 a month to debt and a $10,000 bonus coming in January, it’s an aggressive timeline, but I’m determined.

The Emotional Side of Debt
Debt carries so much more than numbers—it carries shame, guilt, and regret. But it also carries opportunity: the chance to rebuild, to grow, and to prove to yourself that you’re capable of change.

Am I scared? 100%. But I’m also excited to see what happens when I commit to this process and hold myself accountable.
